Terms of Service

What ManuScore is

ManuScore provides editorial audit services for book manuscripts, with a focus on AI-assisted non-fiction. The service is diagnostic: it produces a scored assessment with quoted evidence and fix recommendations. ManuScore does not write, rewrite, edit, or "humanize" manuscripts, and does not guarantee sales, rankings, reviews, or acceptance by any publishing platform.

Services and delivery

• Mini-Audit (free): an automated snapshot of a manuscript sample (up to 5,000 words), delivered instantly on the website and by email. It is indicative, not a verdict.
• Full Audit (paid): a 100-point scored PDF report on your complete manuscript, reviewed by a human editor before delivery, delivered by email within 72 hours of receiving your completed intake form and manuscript. Includes one round of follow-up questions by email.
• Re-Audit (paid): a full re-score of your complete revised manuscript, available within 90 days of your Full Audit.

Your responsibilities

• You confirm that you are the author or rights holder of any manuscript you submit.
• You remain responsible for your own obligations to publishing platforms, including accurate AI-generated content disclosure to Amazon KDP.
• The audit report is advisory. All publishing decisions, and their outcomes, remain yours.

Scope and limitations

Audits are professional editorial assessments based on AI-assisted analysis combined with sampling, spot fact-checks, and human review and judgment. They are not exhaustive: minor issues may exist outside sampled sections, and scores reflect the manuscript as reviewed on the audit date. Nothing in an audit report constitutes legal advice.

Payments

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as merchant of record. Your purchase is subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms in addition to these terms. Prices are shown in USD.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Mini-audit: your email address, the working title of your book, and the manuscript sample you paste.
• Full Audit / Re-Audit: the above, plus your manuscript file and the answers you give on the intake form.

How it's used

• To produce and deliver your audit results.
• To send you your results and occasional follow-up emails about the service, which you agreed to when submitting the mini-audit form. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all marketing email immediately.

What we never do

Your manuscript and sample are never published, sold, shared with third parties for their own purposes, or used to train models. They are used only to produce your audit.

Processors we rely on

To operate the service, data passes through a small set of processors: Anthropic (automated text analysis), Vercel (website hosting), MailerLite (email delivery), Google Workspace (internal records), Tally (forms), and Lemon Squeezy (payments; we never see your card details). Each processes data only to provide its function.

Retention and your rights

You can request a copy or deletion of your data at any time by writing to hello@manuscore.app. Manuscript files are deleted after the audit engagement ends (including the 90-day Re-Audit window, where applicable).

Refund Policy

• Before work begins: full refund, no questions asked. Write to hello@manuscore.app before you submit your intake form.
• Late delivery: if your report is not delivered within 72 hours of your completed intake form and manuscript being received, you may choose a full refund.
• After delivery: because the audit is a bespoke digital work product delivered in full, reports are not refundable once delivered. If something in your report is wrong, for example, a quote that does not appear in your manuscript, report it and it will be corrected at no cost.

Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method.
